Building History

South Hall is one of the smaller residence halls on campus. South Hall was given its name because of its location at the southernmost end of campus, behind Jefferson Hall.[1. William B. Crawley, Jr., University of Mary Washington: A Centennial History,1908-2008 (Fredericksburg, VA: University of Mary Washington Foundation, 2008), 375.] The building finished construction in 1988.[2. Ibid.] It is a co-ed first year residence hall and houses 32 students.[3. Ibid.]
